David Coverdale is in the hall of legendary rock musicians. He became known for replacing Ian Gillan in Deep Purple in the mid-70s and for founding Whitesnake . In the 90s, he also participated in the Coverdale•Page , alongside Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin .

Time, however, catches up with everyone. And in this age of social media and technological innovations, a legend can become something more like… that nice, funny uncle of yours.

Well, Coverdale is an avid user of social media, especially Twitter, and has stated that he loves interacting with fans and that he doesn't tolerate disrespect online.

"For me, the internet is an incredible way to be positive – to entertain, engage, inform, promote, and interact with the people who support my music around the world," he said in an interview in April of this year.

“I post a lot of memes that are inspiring. I don’t post anything that I don’t believe in or support. And that’s all I want to do. If you’re posting or tweeting to me, all I ask is respect for my cyberspace. If you’re rude, you’ll be asked to leave. I want to keep things as positive as possible.”.

Coverdale's Twitter account, then, became a source of amusement. Sexual memes, silly jokes, and cute things. It's a shame that no Brazilian user has yet featured our typical and delicious dessert: pavé.

Here are some examples of posts that David Coverdale shared on social media, but that you might have received in your family's WhatsApp group:

– “When you hear a noise during the night but grab the wrong drawer”:

That slightly sexist joke your uncle loves to make:

– Encouraging phrases to start the day: “Good morning, you are more than beautiful!”

– You could also see David at the Avengers premiere talking about how Marvel is better than DC:

– Those barroom philosophies: “The two most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why”:

– The Leonardo DiCaprio meme:

And of course, a picture of a kitten couldn't be missing:

Since the internet never forgets, the tables turned and another Twitter profile decided to mock Coverdale:

So, head over to David Coverdale's Twitter and feel like one of your idols is part of your family.
