, Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale discussed the band's current state and the dates of their farewell tour.
When asked about the band's last tour, he said: “I'm not retiring from Whitesnake's music, music is like oxygen to me, but touring is physically challenging for me. And I couldn't tour better than I do now, with more comfort. It's just more noticeable as I get older.”
David Coverdale recalls being on the road in early 2020, before all the world events occurred. “At 68, I was killing it,” he said. “I’m in good hands with my band, they’re fantastic. I also have a new Whitesnake member, an extra keyboardist from Croatia called Dino Jelusić , who’s a fantastic singer, I better watch out.”
Later in the interview, David was asked about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Although he is inducted as a member of Deep Purple , there are no nominations with Whitesnake.
“When I went with Purple, I spoke to the guys there, and they were very open and thought it was appropriate that Whitesnake was there,” he said. However, David states that this kind of thing, like being inducted into the Hall of Fame, is the icing on the cake of his life. If it happens, it will be incredible. “It’s not on my bucket list, but I’ll welcome it with open arms because these kinds of things are validations from your peers,” he said.
Furthermore, he added: "How many times do you read about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the people being inducted, and then 6 million people around the world say, 'Where the hell is [...]?!'", referring to the fact that people will always complain that some artist is missing.
