Today, January 8th, David Bowie would have turned 74 if he were alive, and to celebrate the date, two previously unreleased covers of the musician's songs have been released.

John Lennon 's "Mother" Bob Dylan 's "Tryin' to Get to Heaven" have arrived on streaming platforms for the first time. Lennon's version of the song was recorded in 1998 with producer and colleague Tony Visconti with the intention of being part of a tribute collection to the former Beatle , but the release never happened.

The track from Bob Dylan's album Time Out of Mind was recorded in the same year as "Mother" while he was working on the live album LiveAndWell.com , which was released the following year. Both releases will also have a limited edition of only 8147 copies on seven-inch vinyl. Listen to the covers below.
