CBS has announced a series based on the David Bowie film, 'The Man Who Fell To Earth'
The American network CBS has announced that it will adapt the film 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' into a series. The project is expected to explore the "next chapter" of the protagonist's story.
Nicolas Roeg 's film , based on the book by Walter Tevis , David Bowie played the protagonist Thomas Jerome Newton, an alien who pretends to be human while working on a plan to save his home planet.
Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet – who worked on 'Star Trek: Discovery' – have been named as showrunners. They said that new viewers don't need to be familiar with the original.
“Some threads will connect both the book and the film, but if you haven’t seen either, that’s okay,” they said. “You’ll have a completely unique experience. It’s the story of an alien who travels the world to understand who we are as a species.”.
