David Bowie 's classic "Starman" was released last Thursday, the 16th. The release is a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the album The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars , released on that same date, June 16, 1972.
This version is a previously unreleased recording made by Bowie for the BBC 's Top of the Pops at Trident Studios in London, specifically to be dubbed for the show. At the beginning of the track, Bowie replaces the line 'Goodbye, love' with the pun 'Hey, brown cow'.
