The material was released during the recording of the album Space Oddity.

David Bowie compilation will be released by Parlophone Records later this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the rock chameleon's self-titled album, which was later re-released under the name of the track "Space Oddity".

The box set is titled Spying Through a Keyhole and will feature nine previously unreleased recordings by Bowie. The demos were made by the singer while he was recording Space Oddity and were released on streaming platforms in December 2018, but this will be the first time they are released in physical format.

The tracklist for Spying Through a Keyhole also includes alternate versions of tracks such as “In the Heat of the Morning” and “London Bye, Ta-Ta,” as well as two demos of “Space Oddity.”

This release follows another posthumous work released by Parlophone, Bowie's Glastonbury 2000 set, released last year. The label has also previously released Loving the Alien (1983–1988) , Five Years (1969–1973) , Who Can I Be Now? (1974–1976) , and A New Career in a New Town (1977–1982) .
