David Bowie: 50th Anniversary Edition of 'The Man Who Sold The World' Announced

The new edition will feature the cover and title originally designed for the legendary album

Today, the 11th, the 50th anniversary edition of David Bowie The Man Who Sold The World , titled Metrobolist , was announced, with a release date set for October 6th.

Some may find the choice of name for the release strange, as they don't know that the legendary album was actually conceived with that title first; in fact, the original stereo tapes were labeled Metrobolist , with the title being crossed out when plans changed.

The album cover was created by Mike Weller , who was behind the originally planned artwork, which Bowie's record label at the time, Mercury , refused to release. With this, the public will be able to hear, see, celebrate, and even rediscover the album in the way David Bowie originally envisioned it.

Check out the cover art for Metrobolist , and below that, the album's tracklist.
