Rock legend died of cancer
Legendary David Bowie passed away yesterday, January 10th, after an 18-month battle with cancer. The British artist's death was announced on social media
"David Bowie passed away peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. While many of you will share in the loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of mourning.".
The artist, who recorded countless classics such as Space Oddity , Heroes , and Rebel, Rebel , gave his last live performance at a charity concert in New York in 2006.
Bowie celebrated his 69th birthday on the 8th, the same day he released his last album, Blackstar.
