British journalist Lesley-Ann Jones revealed details about the final days of the rock chameleon
During an interview with the BBC, British journalist Lesley-Ann Jones , author of the biography Hero: David Bowie , revealed details about the singer's final days and his last decision before he died.
According to Lesley-Ann, Bowie allegedly chose medically assisted suicide after a long battle with cancer. In other words, he asked his doctor for a prescription for a lethal dose of medication. Based on several testimonies from people close to the musician, the journalist concluded that this was Bowie's decision.
David Bowie 's family has not commented on the matter so far.
Often confused with euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide can only occur when a patient diagnosed with a terminal illness is lucid and has only six months to live, or less.
Physician-assisted suicide is legal in countries such as the Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Colombia, Switzerland, and some states in the United States.
