According to Variety and reported by Far Out , a new documentary about David Bowie is being made by Brett Morgen Kurt Cobain biopic , Montage of Heck .
Although many details have yet to be revealed, the work on David Bowie has been described by Variety as "neither a documentary nor a biography, but rather an immersive cinematic experience built, in part, from thousands of hours of never-before-seen material."
These “thousands of hours” of previously unseen material are intended to form a collage of the artist's life, supposedly produced by Tony Visconti , a friend of Bowie. According to Variety , director Brett Morgen is planning to release the film at the Sundance Film Festival in January, aiming to coincide with the anniversary of the artist's death.
