Tom Morello also commented on the loss

Dave Navarro , guitarist for Jane's Addiction and former Red Hot Chili Peppers , reminisced about Chris Cornell in an interview while talking with Tom Morello , the musician's former bandmate.

“I’ll tell you, man, when Chris died, I put on Soundgarden , sat there and cried, and cried, because I know what it’s like to feel like that. I feel like crying now,” he confessed. Morello also revealed that he has been “crying all the time” since Cornell’s death in May 2017.

Recently, Navarro recalled moments he spent with Cornell and commented that he admires the musician: “It was very difficult to see someone so talented, so lovely, so incredible and magical, and yet mythical, and a loving human being who I worked with when we were on tour in 2003.”

“He and I would take the kids after rehab and we’d go for walks with them and say, ‘Hey, you can do this sober and stuff like that.’ Still having that hole inside you, and still feeling that depression and loneliness and isolation, especially on tour, I identified with that deeply, and I felt the loss and the pain a lot. That’s what hit me the most.”
