Dave Mustaine , vocalist of Megadeth , has announced that he will be selling over 150 items used throughout his career. Guitars, amplifiers, pedalboards, and other instruments and equipment will be sold in a store on Reverb.com .
“When you tour as much as I do, you end up accumulating a lot of stuff. They’re great instruments and they represent over 40 years of my career, but I could never use them all,” Mustaine said about the sale.
“I owe a lot to my fans. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have any of this. I’d rather sell everything to them than keep it and let it gather dust.” The sale began this Monday, the 4th, and includes more than 20 guitars such as the Holy Grail and the Zero Korina, as well as a drum kit with the Peace Sells artwork. Many of the items were autographed by the musician.
The lead singer is currently finishing cancer treatment and, according to him, should be back on the road soon.
