Megadeth vocalist Dave Mustaine has signed an agreement that will see him pay $1.4 million (approximately R$8.4 million at the current exchange rate) to his former manager to settle claims that the band owed him commissions after the manager was fired "rudely" and unexpectedly. This information comes from Billboard.
In their June 2023 lawsuit, which was obtained by the website Blabbermouth , Cory Brennan and the firm Five B Artist Management claimed that they were approached by Mustaine in late 2014 to manage the Megadeth frontman's career.
Mustaine and Brennan agreed that the manager and 5B would manage Mustaine's career in exchange for a 15% commission on all gross profits earned by the musician
According to the agreement, the firm and the manager would manage Mustaine's career for the next nine years. However, on April 28, 2023, the vocalist, through his lawyer, unexpectedly and unceremoniously terminated the contract with those involved, without stating a reason for the termination.
The process is now concluded with a settlement of $1.4 million.
