Dave Mustaine surprised fans by revealing his plans after 's farewell tour and final album Megadeth. In an interview with Classic Rock (via guitar.com), the iconic frontman confessed that his "dream job" after the band would be acting.
“I wouldn’t mind studying acting,” Mustaine admitted. He recalled that he already has experience in front of the cameras, with appearances in comedy series, films, and even hosting TV shows. Among his credits are an appearance on The Drew Carey Showin 1998 and the role of the antagonist Torchy Thompson in the series Black Scorpionin 2001.
Known for his long red hair, Mustaine stated that he would be willing to radically change his look for his acting career: “If they asked me to cut my hair, I would be willing to do it! But it would have to be for a guaranteed role — and a big role — to make that kind of commitment.”.
In addition to his plans in Hollywood, the musician highlighted his desire to dedicate his time to helping new instrumentalists. "I really want to share my gift with younger musicians," he stated, crediting his talent to a divine gift.

Last month, the Loudwire revealed details about the singer's new biography, In My Darkest Hour, scheduled for release in 2027. In the book, the Megadeth frontman details his battle with throat cancer, which he faced in 2019.
In an interview with the WAPL Mornings With Laura Lee & Cutter, he explained that the treatment was delicate because he is a singer: "If the radiation was out of place by a millimeter, it would be the end for Dave."
David Ellefson gives his opinion on Megadeth's new phase
Recently, the band's former bassist, David Ellefson, commented on the new album on his show, The David Ellefson Show. He praised the single "Let There Be Shred" and guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, calling him the "shining star of the group."
On the other hand, Ellefson criticized the technical production of Dirk Verbeuren: "I wish they wouldn't use Pro Tools so much on Dirk. The guy knows how to play. Stop quantizing him and let the sound breathe a little," he complained.
Megadeth's farewell tour is in full swing after a critically acclaimed start. In Brazil, the band has confirmed a single show for May 2nd at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo, as part of the Farewell Tour. Tickets are already sold out.
