Leader talks about new music
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine spoke about the departure of members Shawn Drover and Chris Broderick from Megadeth and about the band's future plans. According to the vocalist, Megadeth will enter the studio on March 2nd, regardless of the band's lineup.
Mustaine spoke about the possibility of finding new talent after Drover and Broderick's departure: "It all depends on whether the musician has talent or if he's simply a useful musician for us." Mustaine gave the example of Jimmy DeGrasso and Al Pitrelli, who were in the band: "I love those guys and I have a lot of respect for them as musicians, but for some reason there wasn't a balance between us."
Dave also put Drover and Broderick in the same category: “James Lomenzo, James MacDonough, Glen Drover, Shawn Drover, Chris Broderick… The fans don’t want these guys in Megadeth.”
Regarding new compositions, Mustaine commented on the upcoming album: “We’re going into the studio on March 2nd, no matter what happens. And with the songs we have so far, I had to talk to the record label, saying that I would never again make a song for the radio. Songs like The Conjuring, Set The World Afire, Devil's Island, Holy Wars, Take No Prisoners, that's what Megadeth fans want to hear.”
According to Mustaine, the band is basing their work on songs that were already written during the time of "Peace Sells" and "So Far, So Good... So What!"
