In an interview with Guitar Interactive magazine, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine said he considers himself part of the fantastic four of rhythm guitarists. Speaking about Metallica guitarist James Hetfield's playing style, Mustaine compared himself, saying:
"If you put us together, one on each side, and split the TV monitor in half and let us play, we're very similar. The way he moves with his guitar and things like that."
I think James is one of the best rhythm guitarists in the world. When it comes to rhythm guitarists, there's James, me, Malcolm Young, and Rudolf Schenker. Nobody else compares to us. We're the fantastic four.”
