Dave Mustaine and the "terrible prank" on his 30th birthday.

Mustaine says he was furious with his wife because of the scare

Dave Mustaine recalls a "terrible prank" his wife played on his 30th birthday.

Megadeth frontman , who turned 60 in September, recounted the episode while filming a new video message on Cameo, which allows users to hire celebrities to record short, personalized video messages on virtually any topic.

Addressing a fan who was celebrating his 30th birthday, Dave said: “I remember when I turned 30. My wife played a terrible prank on me and said that one of my favorite dogs was in the yard and had cut its leg on one of the automatic sprinklers. So I came running to the yard. I had just finished kickboxing class, so I was still in my uniform and everything. I ran to the yard and heard, 'Surprise!', a bunch of my friends were there.”.

“Now, I don’t have many friends, so they were all there. I was so impressed. I was really angry with my wife for provoking me like that, but I got over it,” he said. Dave Mustaine also mentioned that he received a jacket from his sensei, from the Ukidokan .

“[My wife] Pam and I had white furniture at the time; we were newlyweds and didn’t know that white furniture is bad. So we put her Doberman in the bedroom too, and he destroyed my jacket,” he commented.

Earlier this month, Mustaine revealed that Megadeth's new album, The Sick, The Dying And The Dead, has been mastered and is "super close" to being released. The follow-up to Dystopia is scheduled for the second half of 2022.

David Ellefson 's tracks were removed from the LP following his departure from the band at the end of May.
