Dave Mustaine , frontman of Megadeth , revealed that he is recovering after being diagnosed with cancer in June of this year.
“I’m almost in the final stage of treatment and the doctors are optimistic about the progress,” he wrote in a message on the band’s official website . “I would like to thank you all for the support and well wishes you have sent me over the past few months. I can’t express the gratitude I feel and explain how having you all fighting alongside me has helped me get through all of this.”
Mustaine also mentioned that doctors will better assess the treatment results in the coming weeks and said he is looking forward to the Megacruise , which will depart from Los Angeles on October 13th and travel to Ensenada, Mexico. "Less than 30 days to tear it up in the Pacific!", he wrote.
Megadeth had to cancel almost all tour dates after Mustaine's diagnosis, including their shows in Brazil which included a set at Rock in Rio and Rockfest in São Paulo this September. Meanwhile, the group revealed they are working on the successor to Dystopia (2016).
