The musician did not accept the offer because Vinnie Paul could not accompany him in the band
Dave Mustaine recalled during an interview with the Tampa Bay Times the day he offered Dimebag Darrell a spot in Megadeth .
“I called him and asked if he wanted to play with Megadeth,” he recalls, adding that when he spoke to Dimebag, he asked if he could bring his brother, Vinnie Paul , with him. “Can you imagine if we had Vinnie and Darrell in Megadeth? It would have been really cool,” he says.
But Mustaine says he had just hired drummer Nick Menza and that's why he didn't accept Dimebag's offer to bring Vinnie Paul into the group.
Megadeth is preparing to release the compilation album Warheads On Foreheads , scheduled for March 22nd. They are also working on the successor to Dystopia (2016), which is yet to have a name and release date announced.
