Megadeth 's new album is getting closer and closer! In a new update on the project, Dave Mustaine revealed that it's almost finished.

“Luckily, my partner is coming back to Nashville, and we’re going to start with some guitar tracks and solos and some ‘ear candy’ to wrap it all up,” the frontman told Gimme Radio in an interview (via Loudwire), “We probably have… I have one last song to sing, and in another song I need to finish a phrase.”

To explain the term "ear candy , often used to describe musical production elements that enhance the atmosphere of a track, Mustaine defined them as "sticky, mushy stuff that people put on records to help, I don't know, make the music sound better. When you're thinking of AC/DC , you generally don't think of percussion."

Aside from those two songs with pending adjustments, Mustaine confirmed that all the vocals have already been recorded. "After that, it will be time to focus on backing vocals and the rest of the solos," he added.

The successor to Dystopia , released in 2016, still has no release date and may be called The Sick, The Dying and The Dead , but nothing has been officially announced. The vocalist previewed an unreleased song in January, listen here .
