Dave Mustaine now has the first guitar model in his collection, in partnership with Gibson .
The renowned guitarist and the legendary guitar manufacturer announced the instrument in the Flying V EXP model, a shape that has become synonymous with heavy metal over the years and has long been Dave Mustaine's favorite.
Megadeth founder Robert Mustaine described the partnership as “a dream come true” and said he spoke with brand president Cesar Gueikian about the direction Gibson is taking. “I saw passion, respect for instruments, a focus on quality, and a company that is led by guitar players,” said Mustaine. “I feel like I’m finally at home at Gibson and I’m proud of what we’re building together.”
Limited quantities of the Gibson Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP were put on sale on the company's website and are already sold out. A larger batch of products is expected to be released in February 2022, and guitars in similar models can be found via Reverb .
