In an interview with an American radio station, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine detailed what the Megadeth Boot Camp will be like, an experience for Megadeth fans that will last a weekend:
“It will be on my property in California (…) There’s a winery, a river that runs through the property, a 200-year-old oak tree, it’s really cool. And we’re going to invite all the fans. They come on the first night, we meet, we have dinner and a wine tasting.
The next day there are clinics all day long – how to play guitar, bass, drums, how to write lyrics… And we’ll have the master brewer from Unibroue [the company that produces Megadeth’s official beer], he’ll be there. We’ll have a few more people, the producer who worked on the album with me. We’ll record in my studio there. We’ll have the original track from Symphony Of Destruction for anyone who wants to go and record their own vocals and make their own version to take home. That will be a separate thing, it’s not included in the package. And at night we’ll have dinner and beer.
On Saturday morning, David Ellefson, as someone who has been in the 12-step program for 25 years, will lead a meditation program. And on Sunday, since he is a pastor, he will hold a small spiritual service for us on Sunday morning. Then we'll have more clinics, and Saturday night we have a campfire evening to sit and tell stories.
"So on Sunday, before we all leave, we're going to get 200 people together to sing Symphony of Destruction, to have this army of 200 people and guitars. Because I thought that someone out there will know how to play properly, and they'll stand out from the others who don't."
Packages for the Megadeth Boot Camp are available for purchase, ranging in price from $1999 to $5499. The weekend will take place in March.
