Once again, Dave Mustaine Metallica bandmates . In an interview with Vinyl Writer Music Megadeth founder admitted that he "secretly" hopes to work with James Hetfield again.
“I’ve been secretly wishing that James and I could write together again someday,” said the bassist. “I think the world wants it and I think there’s a good chance it will happen at some point.”
Immediately afterwards, Mustaine reiterated that he believes the dream isn't so far from reality. "I think it's possible that James might change his mind one day and that we could both do something together again. I think that's one of the things that has always motivated me. I believe it would be good for Megadeth and could be great for Metallica too."
Over the past month, Dave Mustaine has spoken extensively about his past and shown increasing interest in reconnecting with his Metallica bandmates, particularly James Hetfield.
Two weeks ago he revealed a desire to reunite the Big Four bands to mentor new groups, and recently mentioned the occasion when James Hetfield cried on stage feeling the weight of age. “Hetfield is still one of my favorite guitarists,” he commented. “He was always someone I enjoyed playing with. I wish things hadn’t ended the way they did.”
