Mustaine says he may cut songs from the set
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine commented on Twitter about the protests the band has been receiving from the Malaysian Islamic Party , which criticizes the band's visit to the country, alleging "negative effects that bands like this have on their audience." Megadeth, who have a show scheduled for today in Kuala Lumpur, were banned from the country in 2001 and have now been allowed to play.
On Twitter, a Dave Mustaine fan commented, “Be careful in Malaysia. I hope the Muslims who want to stop your show don’t get what they want .” To this, the vocalist replied, “They are praising their God in the way they see fit. I’d like to know which songs they feel are offensive. I don’t want to offend anyone.”
Later, Mustaine also posted, “If there is any music that offends Malaysian citizens or their faith, let me know. I don’t want to offend anyone. We cut songs at shows in China .
The show takes place today at Negara Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.
