Dave Grohl revealed during an interview that his daughter has been helping him enjoy music different from what he's used to. In an interview with Anders Bøtters ' Tiny TV (via SPIN ), the musician said that his daughter is a big fan of the Misfits and insisted that he start listening to them too.
“Now, when I was young I never really liked the Misfits. I loved all those hardcore punk bands but I never really liked the Misfits , and I don’t know why,” he reveals. “Then my daughter started listening to the Misfits, and now she’s making me like the Misfits. She’s 14 years old. She’s like, ‘No, no, no dad, you need to listen to this.’ So now I love the Misfits. My daughter made me love the Misfits.”
He also commented that his daughter has great taste in music and that this is due to genes: “You have to be a certain type of person to fall in love with and connect with punk rock music. I think it has more to do with your heart and your head than your ear, in a way. So my daughter was born with that same heart and that same head as me.”
