Dave Grohl reflects on his first band, Scream, in a new Punk the Capital video

In a new clip from the documentary, Dave talks about his earliest memories of the band Scream

Dave Grohl discussed the legacy of his first band, Washington hardcore legends Scream , in a new clip from the documentary Punk the Capital .

The film offers an in-depth look at the punk scene that emerged in Washington, D.C., in the late 1970s and early 1980s, with Scream at the heart of the scene.

In the video, Dave remembers picking up his first Scream album and realizing that the band wasn't a million miles from his house. 

“I remember listening to [the album] and seeing that their post office box was near my house. That surprised me!” Grohl said. “Like, ‘Oh my God, one of the best hardcore bands in DC is five kilometers from my house!’”

Punk the Capital originally premiered at a few festivals in 2019 before securing a wide theatrical release earlier this year. The film will be released on video-on-demand services this month, although the exact date has not yet been announced.

Dave Grohl became a member of Scream in 1986, before leaving in 1990 to join Nirvana .

In addition, the Foo Fighters recently announced the dates for their first full tour in 2021, with a series of shows scheduled in the United States for July and August.

The band will play six shows in the Midwest, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, and has promised "many more to come.".
