Dave Grohl , lead singer and founder of the Foo Fighters , has been teaming up with producer and musician Greg Kurstin for the annual Hanukkah Sessions . In the most recent episode, the musicians welcomed Dave's daughter, Violet Grohl Amy Winehouse 's song "Take The Box" .
In the description of the new video, Grohl and Kurstin remind viewers that, despite the Christmas reference in the song, Winehouse was Jewish. “Despite the song mentioning ‘a Moschino bra you gave me last Christmas,’ it’s common knowledge that the incredible woman behind this song was Jewish. She left us far too soon… Ms. Amy Winehouse and ‘Take The Box.’”
Violet Grohl, 15, has been impressing with her powerful voice for some time now, having recorded a cover of "Nausea" by X with her father, and has already performed the song live with both Dave Grohl and the punk band itself .
