The Foo Fighters have been very careful with their concert schedule during the pandemic. In addition to requiring proof of vaccination from the public at all shows, the band recently postponed a show in Los Angeles due to a confirmed case of COVID-19 within their crew.
In an interview with NME , Dave Grohl spoke about the challenges of being back on the road in the midst of a pandemic and what precautions he and the band are taking to try and keep everyone as safe as possible. “The two and a half hours on stage are great,” said Grohl. “It’s the other hours of the day that are more challenging because of all the restrictions, guidelines, and new requirements.”
“When you’re traveling with a team of 60 people from state to state and arena to arena, you try to stay as much as possible in the band’s bubble because things can go wrong at any moment. Every day you wake up, cross your fingers and hope you can get on stage that day,” the musician lamented.
On the other hand, Dave Grohl commented on the visible longing the audience felt for live shows, stating that it's noticeable that people were "hungry" for live performances. "It's been a celebration from city to city of the return of live music, wherever we go," he reports. "We've been on stage like we haven't been able to for two years."
