In an interview with The Independent , Dave Grohl spoke about the current state of rock and named pop singer Billie Eilish as a revolutionary example of modern music.
“I understand that it’s a different landscape today for new bands,” said the Foo Fighters . “There are a lot of new bands that are doing incredibly well and have devoted fans. They may not be as popular as [rapper] Nicki Minaj , but honestly, when I see Billie Eilish, that’s rock 'n' roll to me. She started a revolution and took over the world.”
This isn't the first time Dave Grohl has shown his admiration for the young pop singer. In 2019, the musician made a statement about her during a Pollstar convention and later posted a transcript of his words on Twitter .
“My daughters are obsessed with Billie Eilish,” she explained. “And what I see happening with my daughters is the same revolution that happened to me at their age. My daughters are listening to Billie Eilish and becoming who they are through her music.”
