Dave Grohl , lead singer of the Foo Fighters Weezer 's cover of Nirvana at Rock in Rio last Saturday, the 28th – and at their show in São Paulo a few days earlier.

“I was backstage when I heard Weezer playing 'Lithium.' And I have to be honest, I cried a little. I miss playing that song,” Grohl said during his show, before playing “Big Me” and dedicating it to Weezer.

“Foo Fighters is our favorite band, but it would be weird to play a cover of theirs on the same day as the show. So, we’re going to do a cover of an old Dave Grohl band,” said Weezer vocalist Rivers Cuomo during the performance.

Dave Grohl also mentioned that the Foo Fighters will begin working on the new album when the group returns home next week.
