The former Nirvana drummer paid tribute to his old band by playing their biggest hit.

Last Tuesday, the 5th, Dave Grohl held an event in New York to celebrate the launch of his first memoir, Dave Grohl: The Storyteller – Tales In Life & Music .

During the event, the Foo Fighters shared some of the stories from his book and gave a few musical performances, showcasing how he recorded his first compositions, playing an acoustic set of Foo Fighters hits, and surprising the audience by taking over the drums to play Nirvana , "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

The scene is touching in itself, but it becomes even more moving when Kurt Cobain enter the song, which was playing in the background to accompany Grohl's drums. In September, Nirvana's most famous album , Nevermind – which contains "Smells Like Teen Spirit" – turned 30, and the band plans to release a special anniversary reissue with 94 audio and video tracks.
