During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden , Dave Grohl recalled the time he brought 11-year-old Nandi Bushell Foo Fighters to play drums on the final song, "Everlong."

Nandi became an internet sensation by posting videos of herself playing drums and guitar in covers of huge bands like Nirvana , Metallica , and Led Zeppelin . During his appearance on the show, Dave Grohl recalled his first encounter with the girl:

“She’s an amazing drummer and she has an Instagram where she plays other people’s music. She had played Nirvana songs and challenged me to an online drum battle . Everyone sent me this link and I said, ‘Oh, that’s so cute’ and they replied, ‘No, man, you have to participate in the battle!’ So I thought, ‘Okay, I’ll just do one little thing’ and she destroyed me in front of the whole world.”

Regarding the Foo Fighters show, Grohl said: “We were in Los Angeles and that was the first time we met in person. And the best part is that she's 11 or 12 years old, she's tiny, but she's so inspiring because she's so passionate about music. At her age, she just wants to bring love and joy and she gets on stage like that! I told her, 'You need to be on the last song because you're going to steal the show.' And she did.”

After their online meeting, Dave Grohl composed a theme song for young Nandi Bushell and received an original composition from the young artist in return. The friendship between the two even led to Grohl inviting Bushell to write a song with him , which we eagerly await.
