Dave Grohl , vocalist and guitarist of the Foo Fighters , is already known for his community and humanitarian work, having spent his 56th birthday cooking for homeless families in Los Angeles . Now, on October 18th, the musician will be honored for his volunteer work at a Hope The Mission .
The event will be called “Hope In The City Of Angels” and will be held at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, in the United States.
Hope The Mission is the largest rescue mission in the United States, providing food, shelter, and essential services to individuals and families in LA. According to them, Dave Grohl is "one of the most respected and prolific figures in modern music," via Blabbermouth . They also say he is "as passionate about serving the local community [as he is about music]."
"At this year's gala, we honor him for inspiring advocacy for the less fortunate in his own community, as well as for how his music has brought hope and comfort to fans worldwide."
Guests will be greeted with a red carpet and VIP lounge, live DJs, and special musical performances. They will also have the opportunity to hear real stories from former homeless individuals and receive special recognition for Grohl's years of artistic and community contributions in Los Angeles.
The event is a collaboration between Hope The Mission and Los Angeles Mission , which together provide more than 3 million meals and 750,000 nights of shelter every year.
