The Foo Fighters frontman played all the instruments on the track himself
Dave Grohl Play this Thursday, the 9th, a mini-documentary that features a 23-minute instrumental track where he plays all the instruments.
In the images preceding the song's performance, Grohl shows a music school where children and teenagers – including his eldest daughter, Violet – are learning to play a different instrument. With these statements, the frontman seeks to reinforce the importance of art in young people's lives.
The song, which shares the same name as the documentary, features Grohl playing bass, drums, guitar, acoustic guitar, tambourine, keyboard, and various other instruments for 23 minutes.
In the video, the frontman also reveals that making music is something no one will ever fully master. "You're always chasing new challenges, and always looking for a way to improve what you've learned," he says.
Along with the documentary's release, a website was also launched featuring an interactive version of the video where you can explore Grohl's different performances individually. There, you can also download the sheet music and listen to the master recording of the track.
