Billie Eilish is Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl .
The frontman compared the singer's meteoric rise to fame with that of Nirvana. "My daughter is obsessed with Billie Eilish. The same thing that's happening to her happened to Nirvana in 1991," he said.
My daughters are listening to Billie Eilish and growing up through her music. She totally connects with them. So we went to see her play at the Wiltern, and the connection she has with her audience is the same thing that was happening with Nirvana in 1991. The people in the audience knew every word. And it was kind of our little secret. So I don't know… and her music is hard to define! I don't know what you call it! I try to describe it to people and I don't know… I don't even know what to call it. But it's authentic. And I would call it rock and roll. So… I don't care what kind of instruments you use to make it.”
“People ask, ‘Is rock dead?’ When I see someone like Billie Eilish, I see that rock and roll is nowhere near dead,” Grohl commented.
Eilish is currently working on the album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, which will be released on March 29th. The album includes previously released songs such as "When the Party's Over" and "Bury A Friend".
