Pop singer Billie Eilish surprised fans on Thursday night, the 15th, by calling Dave Grohl onto the stage during her show at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Grohl, who has made few public appearances and a limited number of performances Taylor Hawkins ' passing , took to the stage with an acoustic guitar to sing "My Hero" with Eilish in tribute to the late drummer .
During a brief speech before the performance, Dave recounted how he and the other members of the Foo Fighters were moved to see Billie Eilish wearing a Hawkins t-shirt during her performance at Grammy Awards . The event took place on April 3rd, about a week after the drummer's passing.
“At the beginning of the year, all the Foo Fighters and our families got together at my house to watch the Grammys. When Billie showed up to perform wearing a Taylor Hawkins t-shirt, the room filled with genuine tears of love and gratitude,” Grohl said.
Taylor Hawkins passed away on March 25th , just before his scheduled performance with the Foo Fighters at Lollapalooza Brazil , at the age of 50. The cause of death has not yet been released.
