The Foo Fighters' lead singer took his barbecue kit to a group of firefighters battling the California wildfires

Dave Grohl hosted a barbecue to thank the firefighters working to contain the California wildfires.

The west coast of the US has been devastated by fires in the last week. The Camp Fire in the north has already claimed 42 lives in the region. The Woolsey Fire in the south affected parts of Los Angeles, killing two people and devastating properties in Malibu. Artists such as Fred Durst , from Limp Bizkit , and Flea , from the Red Hot Chili Peppers , have suffered from the fires in recent days.

Firefighters continue to contain the flames across the state, with people now assisting the firefighters. Grohl did his part by cooking a barbecue for the team, using a personal project, the Backbeat BBQ.

“It was great to have Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters visit,” the fire station wrote on Instagram. “Thank you Dave, [the barbecue] was excellent!” See the post below:
