Grohl said he had known for some time that he would need to undergo arm surgery

The Foo Fighters were forced to reschedule their double show at the Fillmore New Orleans. Earlier this week, lead singer Dave Grohl underwent necessary surgery on his left arm.

During a conversation with the president of Live Nation , Grohl said: “It’s something I’ve had to deal with for a while. It’s not the end of the world, but I had to have surgery on my arm because I need to pay the rent. I knew I was going to have to fix my arm, so I went ahead.”

Grohl also said that it's funny to have surgery "because you get to rest a little. Before the surgery they told me they would give me something that would make me feel good. So I thought, 'I'll finally get a nap.'"

The shows have been rescheduled for May 15th and 16th.
