Dave Grohl , in partnership with the NGO Hope in the Valley , held a barbecue for homeless people in Los Angeles last Thursday, the 23rd. According to TMZ , the musician spent 16 hours cooking for approximately 450 people.
The Foo Fighters , who owns a food truck called Backbeat BBQ , prepared pork and beef steaks, ribs, beans, and coleslaw. He even "took a nap in the parking lot while the meat was cooking." Along with 50 other volunteers, the singer also organized and distributed the meals.
Hope in the Valley 's mission is "to prevent, reduce and eliminate poverty, hunger and homelessness."
This wasn't the first time the Foo Fighters member participated in a social cause. In 2018, he held a barbecue for firefighters who worked to contain the wildfires in California Stand Up And Shout Foundation , which supports research into cancer treatments.
