Dashboard Confessional vocalist Chris Carrabba took to social media to reveal to fans that he was involved in a motorcycle accident earlier this month and is currently hospitalized. Fortunately, despite his injuries being severe, according to the singer, his life is not in danger.
Carrabba wrote to fans about his situation and took the opportunity to show his support for the Black Lives Matter . Check out the translated text and the singer's post with a photo of him in the hospital below.
"Hi friends,
On June 6th, I was involved in a motorcycle accident. My injuries were serious, but not life-threatening. I owe this to the incredible doctors, nurses, and medical staff who are treating me, and I am endlessly grateful. I am determined to make a full recovery, but I have surgeries and months of rehabilitation ahead.
I haven't lost sight of the social issues at hand, and even in my current circumstances, I think it's important to state that I support Black Lives Matter. In the near future, I probably won't be able to keep up with the news as much as I normally would. If you don't hear from me about critical social issues, I believe you'll know where I stand.
I would like to thank Bell Helmets, Biltwell, Rev'it, Alpine Star , and Wolverine Boots for making the safety equipment that protected my body in the accident.
I would also like to thank my family and friends for coming together to support me during this time of need. To everyone reading this, I would like to thank you for being by my side during my recovery. This will be difficult physically, emotionally, and financially, and I am grateful for your support as I go through it.”
