Daron Malakian And Scars On Broadway's new album will be released on July 20th.
Daron Malakian, guitarist for System Of A Down, has released a music video for his side project, now renamed Daron Malakian And Scars On Broadway.
The band released their first song, “Fucking,” in 2010, and now they're back with new members. The guitarist explained the lineup changes: “Nobody quit. When I started Scars, I always said there would be different lineups from album to album. It depends on the direction I want to take. Different musicians work for different styles. That's partly why I added my name to the front of the band,” said Malakian.
The song “Lives” is part of the band’s upcoming album, Dictator , which will be released on July 20th. The album was recorded in 2012 but hadn’t been released. “I played everything on it. I went into the studio and recorded an album in less than 10 days. I played all the instruments – drums, everything.”
“I got to the point where a lot of people were asking about the Scars album – I heard it all the time – so I was like, ‘I’m going to release that album.’ Not knowing what was going on with System Of A Down prevented me from releasing my own stuff. It’s been a long time and I’m really excited.”
