British band returns after two years with a mysterious video about the theme of their new album
The Darkness has announced that they will release a studio album later this year. Easter Is Cancelled follows Pinewood Smile (2017) and is scheduled for release on October 4th via Cooking Vinyl.
The news was released with a video from the British band, in which frontman Justin Hawkins talks a little about what fans can expect from the album. “We live in difficult times. With hungry clowns casting a shadow across these lands, our people hide in terrible houses. The birds don't sing and the children don't dance. Hope has been destroyed.”
The video continues for another minute with Hawkins rambling and sending cryptic messages about hopelessness, illusion, and despair. He ends the video saying that the band will bring hope to the world with the album Easter Is Cancelled .
The album's tracklist hasn't been released, but you can see the cover art below, after the announcement video. Easter Is Cancelled is now available for pre-order .
