Dark Tranquillity's last release was in 2016.
Swedish band Dark Tranquillity plans to enter the studio in early 2019 to compose a new album, the successor to Atoma , released in 2016.
In an interview with Kaaos TV , before their show at the John Smith Rock Festival, vocalist Mikael Stanne spoke about the band's plans: “We're still going to do a few more shows. We're going to North America with Amorphis, Omnium Gatherum and Moonspell , so it's going to be a lot of fun, it's going to be fantastic! I'm really looking forward to this tour. So we're going to do something in December, I think maybe in January we should go back to the studio and start composing again. We haven't started the process yet.”
Atoma was recorded at Rogue Music in Sweden, at the studio of Martin Brändström , the band's keyboardist. The mixing was done by David Castillo, known for his work with Katatonia, Opeth , and Candlemass .
