Earlier, conductor Dante Mantovani had been reappointed president of the National Arts Foundation (Funarte) , however, in the early evening, the appointment was revoked by the government.
The rapid change of plans appears to have been the result of complaints from Regina Duarte who, according to sources from the Planalto Palace who spoke to TV Globo , called Braga Netto , the Chief of Staff, expressing discomfort with her position at the ministry.
According to journalist Andréia Sadi , Regina also stated that she was unaware of the former president's return before this morning.
Just a few hours later, Netto, who signed Mantovani's appointment, was the same person who signed the revocation of the maestro's appointment in the Official Gazette of the Union.
