Danny Carey talks about Tool's new album: "The tracks are very long"

The release date for the album has not yet been announced

Danny Carey, drummer for Tool, spoke to the British publication Kerrang! about the band's new album.

He revealed that the album is still being produced but is taking shape, “The tracks are long… too long! They’re definitely too long for the radio! [laughs]”.

When asked about the direction the album is taking, he admits that it's too early to tell, but it already has "its own voice, even though it's quite simple .

Regarding the album's creation process, Danny explains that guitarist Adam Jones and bassist Justin Chancellor write about whatever they're feeling and thinking, then send it to him to organize. After that, the ideas and tracks are taken to vocalist Maynard James Keenan for finalization.

Although there is no release date yet, Danny is optimistic that Tool's new album will be released this year.
