Through his Instagram account, in announcing his entry into Lacuna Coil , Daniele Salomone shared a photo and a clip from the recording of the video for the song "Oxygen," with the following caption:

“I am very grateful to @lacunacoilofficial for this incredible experience. I am very honored to help them. I want to thank @cristinascabbia @maki @andrea_ferro_official and @richardmeiz (also known as pastafrollo) for trusting me. So yes, folks, the unknown man is me…”

Salomone had previously performed with Lacuna Coil at the Rockstadt Extreme Fest in Romania in August.

Diego Cavallotti's departure

Last June, Lacuna Coil announced the departure of Diego Cavallotti, who had joined the band in 2016, initially to replace Marco “Maus” Biazzi . Following the announcement, Diego stated via his social media that “ this decision is not a result of my dissatisfaction or a desire to explore new opportunities .”

Lacuna Coil released a statement alongside the announcement of Cavallotti's departure, saying, “As we enter a new cycle, writing and recording our next album, we are parting ways with Diego 'DD' Cavallotti . We thank him for the many unforgettable moments shared over the years and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

And it continues: “All future plans for shows remain unchanged and the new music is taking shape. We can’t wait to share it with our fans.”

Cavallotti and Salomone previously played together in the Italian metal band Inverno , releasing their debut album Stasis in December 2023.

Born into a family passionate about music of various genres (more precisely, country music and Roberto Carlos), she discovered the good life of Rock and Roll at age 11 (she was Emo, but who wasn't?) through school friends, and hasn't stopped since. Hyper-focused (only on things she likes), she discovered genres that weren't popular at the time and became attached to them (yes, I'm a defender of Metal Espadinha, Folk, and Celtic). Involved with music behind the scenes and even on stage, she even played the saxophone (to play Kenny G). Currently, she plays piano and bass and fiercely defends the idea that you can be a metalhead (any kind) and cry to Corazón Partío. A graduate in Digital Social Media from Belas Artes, she is a Social Media Manager at a music school. She enjoys writing and defending her opinions so much that she became a contributor to the Wikimetal website's writing team.
