Daniel Williams , former drummer for The Devil Wears Prada , died at age 39 after a fatal plane crash. Dave Shapiro , co-founder of Sound Talent Group, 42, was also among the fatalities in the accident that occurred on the morning of last Thursday, the 22nd.
According to FOX5 San , a private jet crashed in a San Diego neighborhood on Thursday morning: "At least three people died and eight others were injured when a plane crashed in a San Diego neighborhood on Thursday morning, causing fires and panic among local residents."
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident was reported shortly before 4 a.m. in the area of Sculpin Street and Santo Road, located in the Murphy Canyon community. Based on preliminary information, a Cessna 550, en route to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport, plummeted from the night sky, striking several houses and vehicles.
Later, authorities confirmed that Shapiro, Williams, two Sound Talent Group employees, and others died in the crash. Authorities stated that there were no survivors among the plane's occupants.
Shortly after, a spokesperson for Sound Talent Group expressed regret in a statement provided to Billboard :
“We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues, and friends. Our hearts are with their families and all those affected by today’s tragedy. Thank you so much for respecting their privacy at this time.”
The band The Devil Wears Prada also posted on their official Instagram page , with photos of Williams from his time with the band: “Speechless. We owe you everything. We will love you forever.”
