Daniel Lima blends rock, folk, and grunge in his new EP; listen to 'Take Time'

The EP features six tracks composed, produced, and performed entirely by the musician

The singer and songwriter from Minas Gerais, Daniel Lima, released his new work today, the 17th, the EP Take Time , released by ForMusic Records.

Daniel brings six emotional and cathartic songs, continuing his folk aesthetic with sounds that also encompass pop, grunge, and even country and western . According to the singer, the songs emerged in early 2021: "It was almost one song a day, studying languages, testing paths, seeking to recognize myself and recognize in the paper and strings all the feelings that were inside me."

The musician, who produced all the tracks and played all the instruments, worked hard to complete the EP, especially because he was going through a difficult time personally. “At the beginning of 2021 I lost my friend and drummer, Julian . He had been very important in the creation of my music and also in live performances. Faced with the shock of this loss, my instinct led me to take on all the production and instrumental performance.”

In anticipation of the project, the singer had already released three singles, “Be Happy Now”, “All The Same” and “You're Fine”, which also included the verse that gave the EP its name. “Know By Heart” also features American Pete Mroz , who participated in the American edition of The Voice 2021. The EP concludes with a western , inspired by the atmosphere of Italian westerns, “Hey My Friend”, and a track inspired by Led Zeppelin , “Be Calm”.

“This EP is a cry for serenity. The main message is to use the time we have been given constructively, rethinking, reevaluating, giving new meaning, and being reborn.” Listen below.
