The São Paulo-born guitarist Daniel Fonseca , just 16 years old, debuts his career with the single "Not Forsaken," featuring Kiko Loureiro . The track will be on his first EP, Alienize , and, according to Daniel, conveys the message that "effort and self-confidence lead you to achieve your dream."
With mentorship from Kiko Loureiro ( Megadeth ), Fonseca presents his first original song with a top-notch team, formed by bassist Felipe Andreoli ( Angra ), vocalist Leandro Caçoilo ( Viper , Caravellus ) and drummer Alexandre Aposan (ex- Oficina G3 ). The music video was directed by Leo Liberti , a renowned director who worked on Megadeth's latest videos.
At just 13 years old, Daniel Fonseca began studying guitar and quickly learned to play with technique and speed, as well as composing songs ready to be recorded. After joining Kiko Loureiro's mentorship program, the young man gained extra attention for his talent and prodigious nature. "The pandemic gave me more time to do what I love, which is playing guitar and composing. In-person classes at school left less free time for that, and I delved deeper and deeper into the instrument," said Fonseca.
With musical characteristics in diverse areas, Daniel Fonseca's main influences are Yngwie Malmsteen , Rainbow , Bach , Paganini , Zakk Wylde , Megadeth , Marty Friedman , Kiko Loureiro , Allan Holdsworth , Genesis , Dio , Deep Purple , Supertramp , among others.
Regarding Daniel Fonseca, Kiko Loureiro comments: “I met Daniel Fonseca through my mentorship program, and he surprised me quite a bit. The curious thing is that he's a young guitarist, but with influences from guitarists of the seventies and eighties, which is quite something new in today's world. The fact that he learned to play very quickly made me believe he had talent for composing. With that, he demonstrated a very important focus.”
Produced by Felipe Andreoli (Angra) and with sound engineering by João Millet , Daniel Fonseca's debut work is scheduled for release in September 2022 and will be preceded by singles. Alienize is a metal album with diverse influences and tells the story of an alien invasion in Ancient Egypt. With artwork by Chiaroscuro Studios / Allan Jeff and layout by Canuto Jonathan , the cover art bears the EP's name and incorporates elements of alien invasion and Ancient Egypt.
