Dani Filth , vocalist of the band Cradle Of Filth , expressed his opinions on the use of AI. The singer highlighted that the tool has no "soul" and compared it to streaming services.
The interview is featured on the Spanish website Metal Journal . In it, the musician talks about his touring routine, his relationships with the band, working with Ed Sheeran , and his thoughts on using artificial intelligence in his music.
When questioned, Filth said: “It’s dangerous. It affects the entertainment industry, whether it’s music, art, theatre, film, and it will also affect all areas of life. It will also have benefits, yes. There will be people with disabilities who will benefit from the use of AI. The problem is that it has no soul. And that will make the human race lazy.”
Dani also highlighted the nostalgia for the times when people went to record stores looking for records. “There was something very spiritual about spending time wandering from store to store looking. Now you just press a button. So no, I think AI is crap. I think it’s a danger.”
Finally, the vocalist elaborates on his reasoning by saying that the program seems somewhat problematic and affects people's spiritual growth, as well as the hard work of artists in all spheres.
News about the new album
Dani Filth also described Cradle of Filth's upcoming album. According to his statements, it will be an album that shows how they continue to evolve, blending elements from previous works but without losing their identity.
“It’s a real step forward for Cradle. There are elements of our previous albums. It has elements of Dusk , elements of Midian , elements of Nymphetamine , elements of the last album, Existence Is Futile … but it’s modern.”
